The shortest distance between you and your surgery/dentures/extraction is North Carolina Hospital Dentistry.

Are you in need of complex oral surgery requiring four or more teeth to be removed?  Do you have dental anxiety, dental fear, and/or a low tolerance for pain? Does your current health or health history increase your risk of complications? Do you have NC State Medicaid?

While you may be used to scheduling months in advance, our goal is to have you in the recovery room within weeks. To this end, we communicate via email, and forms can be completed using your phone. Duke Regional Hospital is our base of operation, but we perform the surgery in both the Wakemed and Duke Hospital systems. Most importantly, our services are 100% covered by Medicaid, so no out of pocket expenses!

No practice is one-size-fits-all, but NCHD is perfect for patients who:

  • Need complex oral surgery (Minimum 4 or more teeth require removal).

  • Are eager to complete the procedure within a few weeks, not months

  • Are enrolled in any NC Medicaid plan, except for Healthy Blue

  • Read and reply to emails promptly (Once the ball is rolling, it can move fast, you just have to keep up!)

  • Are comfortable filling out forms online

  • Have reliable transportation to and from the hospital (Need a ride?), and

  • Show up on time (We have to coordinate with the hospital for scheduling weeks in advance, so rescheduling a missed appointment is not possible.)

If that sounds like you, the process is simple:

  1. Fill and e-sign the Medical History form

  2. Take a photo of the front and back of your Medicaid card and email it to us at info@nchospitaldentistry.com

  3. You or your dentist can fill out the online referral form.

  4. If you or your dentist did not upload your X-Rays and Treatment Plan through the referral form, you must email them to info@nchospitaldentistry.com

  5. Keep an eye on your email. We’ll email you scheduling options within a couple of days, but the availability goes quick, so it’s important you confirm the appointment ASAP!

  6. Have your Primary Care fill out and provide us the Pre-Op form (More detailed instructions will be emailed to you.).
