Private Insurance or Uninsured? No Problem!

Private Insurance or Uninsured? No Problem!

Are you in need of complex oral surgery requiring four or more teeth to be removed?  Do you have dental anxiety, dental fear, and/or a low tolerance for pain? Does your current health or health history increase your risk of complications?

Good news! Because NCHD bills separately for the surgery itself, your medical insurance might even cover some or all of the hospital costs, which can sometimes be more than the surgery itself. To determine your insurance coverage, call the claims number on your insurance card and ask these scripted questions

While you may be used to scheduling months in advance, our goal is to have you in the recovery room within weeks. To this end, we communicate via email, and forms can be completed using your phone. Duke Regional Hospital is our base of operation, but we perform the surgery in both the Wakemed and Duke Hospital systems.

Whatever your insurance is, NCHD may still be a perfect option if you:

  • Need complex oral surgery (Minimum 4 or more teeth require removal).

  • Are eager to complete the procedure within a few weeks, not months

  • Read and reply to emails promptly (Once the ball is rolling, it can move fast, you just have to keep up!)

  • Are comfortable filling out forms online

  • Are able to pay out of pocket prior before beginning surgery (CareCredit counts!)

  • Have reliable transportation to and from the hospital.

  • Willing to make a few phone calls and be the lead advocate for your care.

If that sounds like you, the process is simple:

  1. You or your dentist can fill out the online referral form.

  2. Fill and e-sign the Medical History form

  3. Keep an eye on your email. We’ll email you Pre-Op Instructions as well as scheduling options within days, but the availability goes quick, so it’s important you confirm the appointment ASAP!

If you’re ready, so are we! You can even get started right now!
